On 9th March 2011, a Food Gallery opened on the first floor of the four-storey shopping mall in Penang Times Square managed by Bali Hai Group. It is one of Penang’s largest food courts with a total of 20 stalls serving up to 200 types of food from over 15 countries as well as Penang’s hawker delights. Some of the main items featured at the Food Gallery include German sausage, Indonesian nasi padang, Japanese sushi & teppanyaki, Chinese herbal soup, Hong Kong dim sum, Mexico burritos, Korean bibimbap, Italian pasta, grilled seafood and more.

This large 40,000 sq ft food court on the 1st floor is easily accessible via an outdoor escalator from the parking lot at the ground floor. Prices are reasonable for all food items plus there are many varieties to choose from, all served with localized taste and impressively presented. Customers may eat in the comfort of the air-conditioned food court or its open-air section that overlooks Chin Ho Plaza. Ample car parking with 200 bays on the ground floor and another 500 on the fourth floor is available where the 1st hour parking is free at Chin Ho Plaza. Additionally, there will also be about 150 bays at the basement car park of Phase 2 that is soon to be completed.

The VIPs who were also present to mark the opening by cutting a ribbon at the Food Gallery entrance included Ivory’s Chairman Group / CEO Dato’ Low Eng Hock and Deputy Chairman & Executive Director, Dato’ Seri Nazir Ariff as well as Bali Hai Group’s Managing Director, Mr Chua Lye Hooi.

About 200 invited guests attended this memorable occasion that ended at 2.00pm. Ivory also took the opportunity to invite students from Sekolah Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal and old folks from the Home For The Senior Citizens (GAN EN ZHI JIA BHD) as part of its social obligation to the underprivileged within the community. Ivorycares, Ivory’s charitable arm, prepared some entertainment such as a clown and magician plus gifts for the ‘special guests’ who were treated to a sumptuous lunch at the Food Gallery.
