Horse Ride Outing for The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home - 23 May 2009

Ivorycares, organized an exciting horse ride outing for the children of Salvation Army Penang on Saturday, 23rd May 2009 at Penang Times Square’s Open Plaza.  Besides the horse riding a variety of games were organized for about 40 children from the home whom were between 5 to 17 years old. Children from the public were also invited to join in the fun. Each child was taken on a joyride on horses around the compound of the spacious Open Plaza.  The main objective of the event was to provide an opportunity for the underprivileged kids to mix with the regular kids  to experience the excitement of outdoor activities without any social boundaries. A collection counter was set up for the public for contribution of daily provisions such as rice, biscuits, Milo, milk and so forth for the home. YB Phee Boon Poh, the State EXCO for Health, Welfare & Caring Society was invited to witness this noble event. The children from the home and public participating in the event were treated at Marrybrown, a local fast food restaurant at Penang Times Square. The winners of the games received prizes and all participating children received a goodie bag. Upon collection of the provision items, Ivorycares handed over the donations to The Salvation Army at the end of the event and bid them farewell.
