Penang Shan Children’s Home Association has 20 underprivileged children from as young as 6 to 16 years old and they were all smiles when receiving their gifts during Ivorycares’ visit on 18 December 2010.
Ivorycares took the opportunity to extend a helping hand during this festive season with Christmas as well as back to school goodies. The contribution included school uniforms and shoes that were pre-arranged accordingly for each child from various primary and secondary schools. Apart from the school uniforms, Santa handed Christmas gifts and a goodies bag filled with loads of yummy foodstuff. Ivorycares also catered a sumptuous lunch where the children relished till their hearts content.
Dr. S. Poornachandran, the home’s Executive Administrator stated that the cost of maintaining the home comes to more than RM10,000 a month. He is seeking well wishes to adopt a child at RM500 a month or any amount that would help a great deal in managing its day to day finances. Those who wish to lend support can contact Dr Poornachandran at 016 412 7711.
